Food Review: Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps

There are days when your brain is not functioning properly. Days like Sundays you just hit the road off and grab some delicious food, think less and enjoy every second of the day. Yet the cons of having a zen moment is people taking advantage of it, like the one we experienced at Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps.

Disclaimer: WE HAVE NO IDEA IT WAS 800Grams of Crab they gave us.

Our agenda was to attend Bloggers United since we both want to meet Kryz Uy (my favorite blogger) but since it was so crowded we took off.

Rainy and Crowded.

Drove around and went to Seascape which is a new hangout place at the back of Sofitel Philippines. The place itself mainly focuses on “Dampa” vibes.. And found our way to Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps. I was giddy because I thought it’s a cheap place for crabs and I remember telling Yana that I just had dinner last month at Red Crab on which it’s a bit expensive and expected.

The place is quite nice. Feeling the ocean vibes.

(Updated) Too bad I wasn’t able to capture the moment where the servers came to our table with a bucket of crab and suggested we try the salted egg flavor crabs – said it was their best seller. So we said okay. Unfortunately, they served an 800GRAMS without informing us. They even questionably asking “Yon lang po ba order niyo?“.

To be honest, I was smitten by the servers hospitality. AS IN. Yana told me “Wow, sila pa naglalagay ng bib natin?”. They didn’t do that to the other table though.

The kuya who actually showed us a bucket of lively crab. And he put the bib for us.

We were a bit shocked when the crab came to our table, in my mind, “WOW!! How big the serving is! And how cheap these cost.” (Assumera!). I’m a big fan of crab as well.

To be fair, the salted egg crab was really delicious. It’s so tasty you wouldn’t want to stop. I was drawn to the taste of it. Plus the corn is a good combi for those who doesn’t like rice like me. LOL.

Yanski excited to binge!
Meet Yana, one of my college friends who is now my kumare.
Yep. Finish the whole thing despite being bloated.

We were so full and happy until the bill came. We were shocked to find out how much we were about to pay.

Who eats a 2K worth of crab that is just nearby DAMPA?! WHO!!!

We were like, for a CRAB?! For a freaking crab!!! I even suggested to dine at Sofitel if only I brought the Accor card. But for this. It’s not worth it for two pax. Lesson learned for us though is to ask how much grams they would serve us. Thanks to the servers who just took off after we finished meals. We told the manager about this one and as always we just got a “Sorry ma’am, pagsasabihan ko sila“. They don’t accept credit cards, good thing we brought extra money. Truly not a crab momentum though it’s really yummy.

If you are dining in, I suggest you ask the servers first about how much grams they will give you. LOL. Plus, it’s better to share with two more!

Until my next food review.

PS: For haters of this review, I have been to several restaurants like the Red Crab, Choi Garden and even at JUMBO, SINGAPORE, I usually don’t ask how much grams because THEY ARE THE ONES CONFIRMING WITH US. So yeah, I’d say it still is the servers’ responsibility and FYI I didn’t say anything that we are right, we are also at fault for not asking.

Food Review: SAVAGE, BGC

Of course I’m talking about FOOD again. Tee-hee. I’m back in the heart of BGC where no one stays skinny. When one of my best friends asked me where to eat aside from Tomatito.. She mentioned “Savage” but I shrugged the word off and thought let’s go Tomatito. FYI: I’ve tried Tomatito and it seriously is a worth-drooling experience. Check my previous blog for review.

As we head to BGC that night, Krish asked again which of the two I prefer? Tomatito or Savage and the rest is history. So if anyone tells you – Savage, think twice. LOL.

We had a hard time finding this place though. Located at the Plaza, Arya Residences. McKinley Parkway.
I love how minimalist the place is.

The Menu.

I heard that Savage is headed by chef Josh Boutwood of the Bistro group. The menu itself spoke of the smoke and charcoal based dishes and I love how chefs lately been making art in the kitchen that makes you appreciate its outcome and enticed you to eat even more.

What I look for most in restaurants is the knowledge of each servers and that’s what I liked about SAVAGE. We asked for the best sellers and they walked right through each dishes. We are very pleased with the service. GREAT JOB, SAVAGE!

Devilled eggs, smoked oil and ash
Cheese plate, house jam and bread
Seasonal Salad.
Roasted Potatoes
Grilled Corn, harissa, garlic emulsion

Main Course: (We are meaty people so we didn’t try the fish but they said it’s also good!)

Ribeye 16oz, charred onions
King Edward Pork chop, mustard leaf chimichurri

Sticky Toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream

Overall the experience we had exceeded our expectations, especially with the main course. The texture of the rib-eye and pork chop really left a mark on our tongues. I mean, how do I even describe it? I’m not even a legit food blogger, I’m an eater. LOL. Might I suggest try it yourself. It’s worth a-one time visit. The price though is quite a bit high for small plates, heads up.

The foodies. My barkada of 3 decades.

And it’s so nice they have this wall where you can actually write down your love for the resto. Thank you, SAVAGE!

Appreciate you for dropping by my review. Don’t forget to click subscribe. GOD bless you.

CEBU FOOD TRIP: A Single Woman’s Appetite

As you all know, I eat a lot. So if someone tells me, “you’re so skinny, eat up.” I would glare at them with with a husky tone saying – “I AM A BIG EATER.” Kiddin. I have a big appetite (except for rice) and I thank GOD for my genes.

Hello everyone! I’m back with my foodie review. This is actually part two of my CEBU post. So where did I binge when I was in CEBU? Continue reading “CEBU FOOD TRIP: A Single Woman’s Appetite”

Manila’s Riverdale, Big Boy’s Diner.

*Enter Jughead’s mood tone* In a big town of Sto. Domingo, three ladies (who call themselves, team KJ, for over 7 years) met up for a quick dinner and chismisan. Katrina felt like the odd one because both of them were named Joanna Marie and Joanna Marie. Yep, you got it right and not only that they also have the same surname. As they push their way in to Big Boy’s Diner, will team KJ solve the mystery of their names? 😂 😂 😂

Do you think I should’ve end up being a screenwriter? Anyway, this post is long overdue kasi I’m lazy like that. I kinda dig this place because I’m a huge Riverdale fan!!! Cole Sprouse, if you are reading this – I LOVE YOU. Moving on, super love the vibes of BIG BOY’S DINER despite the place is quite small. Also, parang mas okay if it’s built from an abandoned trailer, don’t you think? But then again, who am I to “design”? LOL.

Hmm, what to order?
Ol’ school radio. 70s?

The Bible verse on the wall caught my eyes – – – I actually had the same verse on my bedroom wall. A great reminder! Judging the owner of the place – – he prolly is a man after God’s own heart.

A perfect dinner date place too.
Team KJ. We were 4 back then, Kelvin was eliminated. LOL. (May story kasi…)

So we ordered these… Hmm, I really like the cheesy fries, wings (AS IN!) and the salmon! The mozarella and porkchop were okay.

Mozarella sticks, Cheesy Fries and Wings
Salmon was really good.
I am a Bubblegum fan!!! LOVE LOVE THIS!
My milkshake – don’t you dare sing the song! Shot by Joanna Marie (Hulaan kung sino sa dalawa!)

So, would I highly recommend this one? Maybe. The ambiance is perfect even the bathroom (too bad didn’t even took a photo of it), thus they can improve better on their food. But overall, this is a great place to hangout especially students, really. The prices of the food are affordable as well.

Reminiscing college…

PS: The place has a fee for those bloggers/instagrammers who will using a dslr camera. So, yeah. If you’re thinking of a place for prenups or even a birthday-themed photoshoot, this is the place to be.

I can’t wait to share the next post because it will get a bit more emotional – yes emotional, kiddin’! MORE ADVENTURE TO COME! 🤣🤣🤣 Don’t forget to subscribe to my social medias!

Grid x Griddle Gastrolounge and Gaming

A week after my trip to Dos Palmas, I’ve been having #sepanx on game night. I guess you could say I’m now officially a geek gamer? If there’s even a word for it. No longer the party girl but a gamer. WOW. 😆😆😆 Moreover, my bestfriend Florence invited us to visit her brother’s newly opened Gastrolounge and Gaming located in the heart of Greenfield District in Shaw.
