My Singaporean Birthday – LA!

My 32nd Birthday is the cherry on top of the cake in my entire life.
Experiencing the goodness of my Lord Jesus Christ.

Before I continue, I’d also like to share with you my birthday celebration with my loved ones sans my family due to their busyness we still haven’t had time to celebrate my birthday… ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

#CakesByMiriam — so good!!! Thanks to my bestestfriends Florence and Kriscia! Top: Zooshop
What more could I wish for? ๐Ÿ˜
Well, tbh, I wish that this year I would gladly meet my God’s best.
I’m telling you this, because I’m claiming it in Jesus name. ๐Ÿ’“
I’m overwhelmed and speechless how this year turns out to be. Sometimes, you certainly need to embrace every season you’re in, despite and in spite of the circumstances.
Celebrated my birthday at The Perfect Pint BGC.
(I actually haven’t been there nor tried their food but I look up to Our Awesome Planet‘s review… And certainly it’s a very good place to chill and eat up!)
Too bad wasn’t able to take pictures of the food! My guests were all pleased!
Thank you, Perfect Pint! ๐Ÿ’“

I wanted a small intimate celebration since I’m leaving for my birthday week…
ย These are the people who made my celebration an extraordinary one!
I thank God for my 32 years of existence He gave me these people to grow old with. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ
Baby girl Kassidy helping me to open gifts! Tee-hee.

Haha, yes I get to sing my fave Karaoke songs with someone stringing the guitar.

So, at first, the only person I told about my SG trip was my shobe, she was the one who actually encouraged me to take a solo trip. Thus, it’s one of my bucket list since college days. I certainly believe it was also God’s will for me, His provision, His grace and His big YES were my astounding hope. Truth to tell, I was scared to travel alone with everything that is happening to the world. When my mother found out few months before I leave, she wanted to join me, I was like — ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜… Good thing though, she had to renew her passport on the day of my birthday. LOL. (Trivia: I was the only one in my family who hasn’t been to SG! Where was I?! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ)

ย
Here is a short video of my trip… And will share some pictures as well…

I stayed at Pan Pacific Singapore at Raffles Boulevard and was blessed by an upgrade!
(I was thinking of backpacking but… how do you guys do that though?
I am open for learning ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ)
ย I wasn’t expecting a KING size bed since I’m alone. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
ย I LITERALLY WANT THIS KIND OF SHOWER ROOM.
It has 3 kinds of shower faucet. Couldn’t get enough of it! HA!
Balcony view ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

ย And surprising me with this yummy birthday ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ… I feel so loved!
First stop, lunch with Ren (who helped me with my accommodation)…
Thank you, Ren as well as my bff Florence!!! We didn’t have a photo together. Too bad.
This is Pasarbella – A Farmer’s Market at Suntec
A Hole-in-Wall type of food place.
ย She had her Truffle Beef (so good!) and I had Salmon
Apparently, I missed this!!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
About to meet my cousin Karen…
I went to Bugis alone, too bad my Live video got erased where I had to ride a train,
got lost, seriously, I was heading to the other side of Bugis! It was a fun moment!
Anyhoo, Karen showed me the famous Haji Lane
ย  ย ย

Went here for dessert and some mocktails. Forgot the name of the place! Pretty cozy!
Then we decided to go to Clark Quey for dinner,
I was craving for Chili Crab!!!
It was a walkathon for me and Karen
since the first branch of JUMBO we went to was full-house!
ย Clark Quey
What a beaut! Hill Street Building along Singapore River ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
And finally it was worth the longest walk ever,
ย
๐Ÿ‘ฏwith my cousin, Karen๐Ÿ‘ฏ
I decided to sleep early, ditch partying
because I haven’t gotten any sleep since my flight was too early.
#titasofManila
And yes, I fell asleep before midnight strikes… 24th of August.
Sharing you another clip from my Birthday Itinerary ๐Ÿ˜
Waking up with a grateful heart!
I’m 32 years old and this is the year of the Lord’s favor for me ๐Ÿ˜
*The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness*
(Lamentations 3:22-23)
The good thing about traveling alone is that you don’t have to wake up “really early”… ๐Ÿ˜
Time is on your side. ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„
I was overwhelmed with all the calls and messages I got that morning. ๐Ÿ˜
ย So, I was a bit late and wasn’t able to had breakfast. Only coffee.

Happiest Birthday to me! ๐Ÿท๐Ÿท๐Ÿท
(I wanted to celebrate my birthday alone not because I’m lonely,
I wanted to fulfill my wish to get out of my comfort zone and get crazy lost!)
ย Yes, riding alone. It was so fun, I almost wanted to scream, LOL
ย On to my next Itinerary was the Madame Tussauds.
The only goal in mind is to have my picture taken with my favorite icon —
Audrey Hepburn.
ย Tea time with my mentor Holly Golightly, she told me
“I don’t want to own anything until I find a place where me and things go together”
She was talking about her cat, though. ๐Ÿ’“
I was in a bit hurry and went back to the hotel because I have a 6:30 dinner reservations.
Back story on this one: (Resto was recommended by two traveler friends)
ย I emailed Bunt Ends once but they didn’t replied.
So after a week, I checked on their website again and realized
they have their own reservations page.
And out of all the days in that week, the only open slot was my on my BIRTHDAY. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•
It was meant to be. God is really good.
Out and about in my birthday jumpsuit by:
#unpaidadvertisement I just love their clothes!
ย I was supposed to take the MRT but I’m running late. Excuses. LOL
ย Burnt Ends Singapore
#30 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants
located at Teck Lim Road
ย I requested a good seat though, haha. I didn’t realized the sous chef is gwapo.
ย Wine. Oh Wine. ๐Ÿ’“ (If there’s any man who loves Jesus and
drink a glass of red wine and no not an alcoholic ๐Ÿ˜‚, I’d marry him!)
ย Burnt Ends Sanger — GAH. Best brioche burger ever!!!
ย They gave this for free though, Pickled Back as they call.
Whisky + Pickle shot
Before eating the Sanger, bottoms up! Good one, though.
ย And since I’m alone, I couldn’t order as much as I can.
I decided on this one…
Flank, Burnt Onion, Bone Marrow.
Is there even a word to describe this?
Sumptuous dinner, indeed.
ย (L-R) Sheena’s a Filipina who was so accommodating and helped me with what to order, sous chef Kierin, so gwapo. He was also nice enough to take some time and handed a shot with me and his team because it was my birthday! ๐ŸทSorry ladies, I heard he’s married. And the last photo, I never really expected a birthday cake from the team! ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’• thank you, Burnt Ends!
An old friend Amalia messaged me and asked if we could meet up,
and she was just in the area as well…
We went to Marina Bay Sands, had some champagne!

Cheers to us at C’est La Vie, Marina Bay Sands ๐Ÿท๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿท
Thank you, Amalia for the treat and for your time!
Had fun hearing your travel stories!

My last day in SG was an epitome of patience, laughter and prayer! ๐Ÿ˜

For lunchtime, I met up with an old friend Dorothy
over a quick lunch since she still has to go back to work.

Forever chikabels with this one ๐Ÿ’œ and yes, I plan to take your advice…
Australia on to my next trip, heh? โœˆ

After meet-up, I visited National Museum of Singapore.

…This photo says it all.
An innocent child wanting to learn more of her culture. ๐Ÿ˜

Such a rich culture!
ย Video below is one of the many things I am in awe at the Museum
From Museum to Orchard… It wasn’t really on my itinerary.
As you can see, I am abstaining from shopping
But with what happened… #nocomment. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
Takashimaya to Ion Orchard.
My feet were aching badly. As in badly!!! ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ
ย From Orchard back to Raffles Blvd to One Fullerton because of this!!!
Lady M!!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Singature Mille Crรชpe!!! To-die-for.

The famous Marina Bay Sands.

The Merlion

So after a quick dessert and coffee, I headed to Gardens by the Bay.
This was the last one on my Itinerary and I couldn’t leave w/o visiting.

ย

Perfect place for PRENUP! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
At Gardens by the Bay waiting for my Bae…

ย

The Cloud Forest. This falls is just too gorg, the photo doesn’t give justice!

My LIVE feed at Gardens by the Bay is available on my Facebook! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
Apparently, I did everything I had written on my itinerary.
Except for one thing…
SLEEP IN A COUCH because of a delayed flight by the one and only…
CEBU PACIFIC AIR
I went to the airport as early as 10pm since my flight is at 3am.
I wanted to experience the Hello Kitty Cafe located at another terminal.
I regret doing so. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
But, oh well… At least I get to experience an airport shenanigan! Teehee.
ย Hello Kitty Cafe at Terminal 3.
ย The pasta though was good.
So this is me, I had to pay for the lounge to sleep.
Unlimited breakfast and a couch to stay.
And some business random guy smiling at you. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
I literally fell asleep despite the discomfort.
From 3am flight to 11am.
Plus they didn’t announced earlier we have a free hotel stay.
Blimey, IKR.
But I was at peace, chill and beyond that
in my heart, I was contented, happy and grateful.
God is still good after all.
ย
ย “Clouds are the dust behind God’s feet. Nahum1:3”
in relation with Mary when she found herself at the feet of Jesus asking Him
to be forgiven and to save her.
Perhaps that’s why I’ve always been in love with the clouds
because I always find myself at His feet. It’s where I find comfort.
God is with me all throughout the trip.
I felt His hands guiding me.
It was a beautiful date with my Father in Heaven.
Before I end my long post… โœŒ
This balikbayan box came home with me… GAAAAH.
Best salted egg potato chips and fish skin ever!!!
Thank you to the team, Frans and Michelle!
Irvins Salted Egg
ย Too bad they still don’t have any shipment to Manila.
Until here! Thank you so much for taking your time with my journey.
ย Until my next flight… God is gracious enough to give me another provision!
Yep, I got a free flight due to the delay. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
What I realized on this trip is that when you keep trusting and seeking GOD,
you’re able to find Him in so many ways.
He is so good, He is so powerful, merciful and He is truly loving.
Let Him in.
XOXO,
Katrina Escover ๐Ÿ’œ
